So you have added someone special to your family? What do you do now? Let me help you, that is my job.
There is not a day that goes by that I don’t think about how much I love photographing those squishy precious faces. I want to help you make this the most memorable event of your life so here are a few tips.
Bring a paci if your baby takes one. There will be moments that he/she needs extra soothing even if they have just eaten. They get tired and restless!
Bring a favorite blanket if you have one. These little ones hate to be cold so stick that in your bag and if you want a photo with it, we can accommodate.
If you are not nursing, please bring a bottle. Baby will need to eat during the session. Some sessions will take three hours. We follow their lead and do all we can to keep them comfy.
If you will be wearing a white gown during the session, please bring nude underwear. I do have a bra coverlette if you do not have one of those.
Dad needs to bring a white t-shirt. Pure. Simple. Clean.
Bring a well rested face. I know that is crazy-talk with a newborn but I say that just to let you know try to rest when he sleeps in the days and hours leading up to your special session. You will have these photos on your wall forever so let’s make them as beautiful as they can be.
A change of clothes for you and baby. Just in case accidents happen and they usually do.
Those are the biggest things I can think of at the moment. I have diapers, wipes etc. if needed. I try to take care of everything so the work is lifted off of you as much as possible. You just had a big day and someone needs to care for you too. Enjoy every moment now because trust me, they will change each week. This is why we take these beautiful images of these little babies who steal our hearts.
