Kandice Marie | Must-Have Skin Care Over 40 | Beautiful Soul Portraits
Let’s talk retinol.
But not actually retinol. Let’s face it, everyone swears by retinoids for aging and yes it can do what they say it does. Not all are created equal however. The best retinoid you can buy is Tretinoin and you can buy it at the front of almost any dermatologist without a prescription. I have used this product off an on for several years but I have been inconsistent. Here’s why. It makes your skin look gross, peely, red, and irritated. It turns over skin cells at higher rate forcing your body to produce collage. Let’s face it if you are over 30, this sounds great. But seriously, who wanted caked up makeup over peeling, rough skin? I am sure there are some people out there that are not affected by this but I am not one. What I have found the last year is a product that seems to do the exact same (turning over cells) except without the irritation. Not only have I tested this but I have seen some research on it. Below is the product I have been using and I am in love.
I do have a slight be of peeling but its so mild in comparison to that of retinoids. Not to mention my skin looks so smooth and glowy! That could be also due to the hyaluronic acide and niacinamide added to this product. HA is wonderful for plumping the skin when there is moisture present. Niacinamide will act similarly to vitamin C by evening your complexion and blending away age spots. It’s a no when for this natural product. Enjoy.
