Columbia SC Photographer | Black and White Boudoir

Black and white boudoir is a favorite of many women due to it’s artistic nature. In my opinion, black and white only suits certain images. Occasionally one image will just beg to be turned to black and white but primarily I should color. If requested ahead of time, I will shoot with monochrome as my goal. This changes everything when shooting from that perspective. Have a look below.

This image can really go either way but I would have to say that black and white added some drama that was not seen so much in color. Looking below, the skin tone is beautiful in color. What do you prefer, rich color tones or sleek dramatic black and white? What suits your personality best?

When clients have a vision for their session, that is a great way to begin a session. Most of the time however, clients come in and say hey, be creative and do whatever you want with me. This is when we really get to shoot outside the box.

This image below is an example of how I had to get creative with a prop the client brought in. Her significant other was a motorcycle enthusiast. We had so much fun coming up with new poses for this but of all we took, this really had me and it begged to be black and white. There was no question. Her album rocked needless to say and there was still plenty of color :)
