Bravery, courage, selflessness, sacrifice and beauty. All these things I can say one would posses when they choose to give the gift of a child to someone else. It takes an exceptional person to do this for another couple. She allowed someone else to borrow her body as a vessel to carry their child and deliver it after nine months...
A Surrogate mother...
This is what she had to say about this gift...
"I have always felt drawn to pregnancy and birth from a young age. I researched egg donation and surrogacy in college but read the importance of being done having my own kids so I put it on the back burner. After the birth of my daughter in 2009 and then son in 2011 we knew our family was complete. I began further researching surrogacy requirements. My OB told me that my body seemed uniquely designed for pregnancy and childbirth and gave me the all clear. I felt deeply like this was my calling; to help another family fulfill their dream of parenthood. It took about 3 years of screening, matching and testing before I was pregnant with another couple's baby. I gave birth Jan 2016 to a healthy baby boy and it was a magical experience, seeing a mother hold her baby that she had long been praying for. After two years I matched again with a wonderful couple and am currently 25 weeks with a little girl. It is humbling and amazing to have this opportunity to carry life for someone else, surreal and magical all at once. I am so extremely grateful for these experiences and thank God every day that I have been given this opportunity."-Jennifer
I met this wonderful lady this past week for a milk bath maternity session in Lexington, SC. I cannot imagine the courage and selflessness that is needed to do this. My personal pregnancies were so crazy hard that I could barely endure them. So many kudos to you, you are beautiful inside and out!
Jennifer also serves as a doula, she believes children are a precious gift and truly I agree that they are. We had so much fun doing makeup and shooting the bath scene but I can't lie, it was FREEZING cold on this April evening. She was a serious champ through this gorgeous session though. I want to share with you a couple of these artistic dream pieces we created together. I had a vision and she was willing, that's really all I can dream of!
